Ciara is a theatre director and costume designer based in Dublin. She has worked within the costume departments of the Gate Theatre and the Abbey Theatre as well as with many independent companies, alongside making her own work. Ciara has participated in the Dublin Theatre Festival training programme Next Stage, and in the ‘Fast Forward festival for young European stage directors’, collaborating with emerging directors from across Europe. Her writing on Music in Irish Theatre is published in the upcoming Palgrave Handbook for Contemporary Irish Theatre and Performance. Ciara also teaches youth drama in Stage School Ireland’s Rathgar school.
Some recent credits include: The Sleepwalkers (Pan Pan and DYT), The Cripple of Inishmaan (Gaiety Theatre), Thirst, and other bits of Flann (Peacock Theatre), Eliza’s Adventures in the Uncanny Valley (Pan Pan), Unwoman (Dublin Fringe Festival) and Madama Butterfly (INO).
